Temp Mail for Genshin Impact: Signing Up for HoYoverse with a Disposable Email

HoYoverse — the studio behind Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and Zenless Zone Zero — uses its own account system at account.hoyoverse.com, and that system does accept disposable email addresses for registration. The signup process sends a verification code to your inbox, which arrives reliably to a temp address. The bigger consideration with Genshin specifically is that your HoYoverse account accumulates significant progression data, and losing access to the email it was created with can make official account recovery nearly impossible.

How to sign up for HoYoverse with a temporary email

1. Open inbox Me and copy your disposable address.
2. Navigate to account.hoyoverse.com and click Register.
3. Paste your temp address into the email field and click Send verification code.
4. Switch to your inbox Me tab — the 6-digit code from HoYoverse arrives within about a minute.
5. Enter the code on the registration page, set a strong password, and agree to the terms.
6. Log into Genshin Impact with your new HoYoverse credentials and link the account to your game progress.

Common verification blockers

HoYoverse's registration is relatively permissive at the email level, but a few issues come up. Verification codes expire in roughly 10 minutes — have your inbox Me tab ready before requesting the code. If the code email doesn't arrive, waiting 60 seconds and clicking Resend resolves it in most cases. More importantly: HoYoverse account recovery for a lost or hacked account relies heavily on your registered email for identity verification. A temp address that has since expired makes official recovery nearly impossible — if you intend to play seriously and invest time or money, consider registering with a real address, or at minimum link a mobile number through HoYoverse's security settings after initial registration.

Frequently asked questions

Does HoYoverse accept temp mail for Genshin Impact account registration?

Yes. The HoYoverse account registration page accepts disposable email addresses and delivers the verification code to a temp inbox without additional friction in most cases.

Can I recover my Genshin Impact account if my temp email expires?

Recovering a HoYoverse account requires verifying ownership through the original email address. If that inbox has expired, official recovery becomes extremely difficult — HoYoverse support may ask for purchase receipts and device information, but there's no guarantee of success. Link a phone number in HoYoverse's security settings as a backup.

Will HoYoverse ban my Genshin account for using a disposable email?

Using a disposable email to register is not listed as a violation in HoYoverse's Terms of Service. Bans relate to cheating, exploiting, or purchasing accounts — not the email type used during registration.

Does a HoYoverse account work across Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, and other HoYo games?

Yes — one HoYoverse account covers all HoYoverse titles. A temp-mail account you create for Genshin Impact can be used to log into Honkai: Star Rail or Zenless Zone Zero as well, though the same recovery-risk caveat applies across all of them.

What if the HoYoverse verification code doesn't arrive in my temp inbox?

Wait a full minute before hitting Resend — HoYoverse's email delivery can be briefly delayed. If the code still doesn't arrive, try generating a new inbox Me address, as occasionally a specific domain-pair has a deliverability issue.
